Ron's rules for online dating

Rule #1

It is OK to ignore fat chicks. You aren't the first to do it, and you certainly wont be the last.

Cry me a river

Rest assured that the rocks will win no matter how much we pollute. Burn it all up.

What?

Ron is smoking the rock again, so he thinks he is a winner, he also wants us to feel sorry for him.

Thats street talk, i think?

feel very very sorry for my poor soul.

Actually its tied to a rant from someone about gas prices and global warming. The guy drives a lot and complained about prices and warming. I'm like "well you're part of the problem buddy". He asked me why I didn't feel bad about polluting or gas prices. I said, well I feel slightly bad about polluting but not bad enough to stop driving and I can still afford to drive whenever I want. In my defense the #1 condo on my list is 1.6 miles from work. I'll not be driving 350 miles a week getting to and from work.

Checks and fires

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Checks should be banned from supermarkets. In fact, they should be banned at any retail marketplace of any kind. Paying with a check is like working off of an Apple IIe. Its outdated, slow, mind numbing, and out of fashion. I was in the express lane this evening with two middle aged women in front of me. The express lane. The store was busy because it was right after work. Both women payed by writing checks. I had to wait there while they had to write it all out, look at the date, sign it, record their balance. Then it goes to the clerk. He has to write something on it too, then put it through the machine. Of course the machine malfunctions 3 out of 5 times and the process has to be repeated. Lines that were 8 people deep next to me got out of there before I did. Of course i gave my usual rant to the clerk after the whole ordeal. I dont think he had enough ambition to care. Conclusion: Checks should be outlawed except by mail!

In other news there's a bunch of fires going on in the SE. Tally gets lots of residue smoke from them. I kinda liked it at first. There was a slight smokeyness in the air that reminded me of camping. Then after a while my head started to hurt, my eyes itched, breath became short. The smoke is losing its appeal. Yup. Like we need yet another reason to stay inside with the air conditioning in FL.

as the lesbians gathered, we became scared and left

i have no problem with lesbians, its hot. but i do get a little uneasy when my penis makes me the minority in the room and no one wants it. one of hte hole-in-the wall bars me and ais go to is digger mcduffs in rocky hill. once when we were there, a group of 6-8 lesbians had taken over a little corner and we watched them with interest. well we went back last week and a few of them were there again. couldn't have been more then 8 people in the whole bar and 4 of them were not straight. slowly a few more "couples" of women started entering the bar. then more. and then more. there must have been 20 lesbian couples show up in like 30 minutes. i think at this point there were like 4 guys in the whole place.

whats odd about it is that each girl was a very stereotipical lesbian. you had your classic butch, flanel wearing, backwards hat, short haired lesbos, your basketball player lesbian, lipstick lesbian, man hater, and any other you can think of. its entertaining seeing two chicks make out in the corner. we started to feel uncomfortable by all this and decided to leave.

i'm not one to denounce anyone for being who they are or expressing themselves or trying ot tell gay/lesbian people they aren't welcomed, but it was a little odd to have that many congregate in one place. do bars get reputations for being GLBT friendly? is ladies night really a secret code for dike-fest? i have no idea where i'm going with this but its different than the normal posts of late.

Hmm. Very good matt. I do believe bars get reputations for being 'lesbian' joints. Birds of a feather tend to flock together. Either that or they are particular nights that are unoffical "lesbian/ gay night". The closest bar to me is a gay bar. Its called 'brothers'. I go there once and a while and its cool. The crowds at these places take some getting used to, but can be a lot of fun. I remember at college a bar's night unofficially turned into 'black night' over a period of 3 weeks (Ron, Macunes?). It didnt last much longer.

branciteam i dont remember any black nights.

You should have just pulled it out. Especially to one of the alpha bull dike ones with the backwards baseball cap.

CT the best... even in the future & More!

Ive wanted to post this for some time, but was very busy with college and work related classes. Ill soon be dealing Roulette, its a fun game to deal but not great for the players.

Anyway, this map is part of the 3 part global warming study that the UN commissioned. (I think?) This in the 2nd part released a month or two ago and shows how the world will change in the future.

The red zones are areas that will most likely be underwater in the near future, say by the end of the century. Its not clear here, but Boston and Providence are both in the red zone. Here is The Link to this and other maps, downloadable for greater clarity.

Notice that CT is still green, with the possible exception of a few low lying historic seaport areas, such New London and Old Saybrook. Our natural hilly topography basically saves us, as well as(i think) our still intact watersheds, thou im sure flooding will be more common.

Independent Journalism in Baghdad:
This is an interesting site i just stumbled onto, Alive in Baghdad. Listen to an interview with an Iraq insurgent or a man's harrowing experience getting his pregnant wife to the hospital. So as McCain and others talk of the "Liberal Bias' of Corporate Media," why not take in some unembedded independent journalism for yourself. (It consistently worked with the Flash player for me)

Native Energy:
Been thinking about going Carbon Neutral? Well here is a good start for you, Native Energy. I like this site, number one because its on the up-and-up and a decent website, but also because its run-by and supports Native Americans, whom if they cant cash in on the casino crazy are basically the poorest people around.

Ive been thinking about going neutral, its only a few buck a month. It would be cool if we all went in on something like this together. Find out your carbon footprint, im a planet killer producing 31301 lbs. of carbon dioxide a year, mostly due to my international travels.

"Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace."
-His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

Peace be with you.

Well as long as CT does ok, what do we have to worry about? I already have my contingency plan to buy and sell down here in FL then move back up before the tide hits.

By Blogger Brancibeer, at Sunday, May 20, 2007 1:08:00 PM

Looks like a lot of CT will be wetlands? (green but inside that line) Another score for VT as our Lake Champlain waterfront isn't going anywhere (97 ft above sea level) turns out being the only New England state without a coast isn't such a bad thing.

When going carbon neutral, which should only be done after you've minimized energy use, be careful the carbon reductions you buy are verified by a third party, and renewable energy investment should be preferred to planting forests, as the CO2 reduction of the latter is debatable.

My word verification is liskovho, not too far from Lisk Idaho eh?

Is that where Lisk is? Whats he doing?
