What the hell's a NeNe? Is that what they call streets down there? I don't know if Kolopackinene would approve of that...

By Blogger DJ Booze Piñata, at Wednesday, September 27, 2006 4:57:00 PM

I was going to come up with a sarcastic remark until i realized i have no fucking idea why its "nene". Branciteam Hungerforce will investigate this further.

If anyone wants to hang out.....

...then they better put up some numbers for community service. Until November 8, I'll be working on a certain campaign 7 days a week and 10-12 hours a day. At first it drove me crazy. Now it's still pretty frustrating, but there's too much to do to feel sorry for my social life. Typically I make sure nothing stands in the way of my convenience but now it's evil begone because I'm awsome.

I'm keeping this short for now so's I can sleep some, but I'll leave you with one thing. At night all the spiders come out around the campaign HQ. Kristen almost puked when she saw how many there were. I googled some jpegs of Brown Recluse spiders but none of them matched so we're good.

In this paragraph I honor those who have fought and died for me by either assembling lawn signs, phone polling or stuffing envelopes. Matt. Kolpack. Kristen cuz she's gotta. Would you like to have your name in a paragraph? Honor will be yours for the low low price of volunteering a couple hours a week! If anyone can come to East Hampton on the weekends to do lit-drops (driving around in 2 man teams putting flyers in screen doors/newspaper boxes), then let me know. It's fun and joyous. Just like heaven so try it.

Did you crash a road bike? It seems that is so much less likely than other kinds of bikes but so much more painful. My only fall off my road bike was virtually stopped when I couldn't get out of my pedals on the street in Middletown and an old man had to ask if I needed help.

Some things I've been thinking about lately

-Buying a motorcycle
-Buying a car
-Buying a foosball table
-Freaking out and taking a yoga retreat
-Freaking out and taking a worldly trip
-Freaking out and going across country (and Canada) on a motorcycle
-Trying not to have a freak out
-Sex

Well the motorcycle spurs from my golden days of cruising the road. I miss it. The car comes from the fact that my car has now been downgraded from 'alright' to 'rat car'. But the thing still does the job. Theres a used foosball table on craigslist i'm going to check out. Yoga is good and it would be nice to do nothing but that for like months. I've been organizing my massive electronic picture collection lately and have come across alot of cool stuff. Atleast the cool stuff i used to do- like seeing all kinds of animals and pretty places. I'm feeling the need for adventure- that accounts for the trips. Well, trying not to freak out- thats a constant thing...nothing out of the ordinary. Sex....well....yeah.

I'll probably do atleast one of those. Any bets?

my money's on sex with the foosball table.

however, if you could swing the trip or the cross-canada motorcycle ride i think either would be awesome.

By Blogger josh, at Tuesday, September 19, 2006 3:40:00 PM

I vote for a trip, to see a friend, to have some sex. And I know just the friend ... she would be willing ... ;)

By Blogger sadielady, at Tuesday, September 19, 2006 3:43:00 PM

you already own a motorcyle, fly up here and take your trip down the east coast to bring it to FLA. i think you could cover all those points in one trip, vacation, home, friends, motorcycle, long trip, sex stop in SC, whats not to like about this one? having the bike around would take a load off the car too. what the fuck is a yoga retreat? you better not be getting weird on us. i've got my eye on you.

maybe you should just freak out. take a day off of work, grab a bottle and just go nuts. let it out man, let it out.

By Blogger Supreme Monkey Overlord, at Wednesday, September 20, 2006 1:58:00 PM

Thats the most god damn sensible thing I've heard you say in a while Matt. I'll consider it, but do you have any idea how uncomfortable riding my bike for 24hrs of highway would be? I'd have to make it a week long trip through back country roads. Although i couldnt fit much on that bike either (as far as camping gear and stuff).

By Blogger Brancibeer, at Wednesday, September 20, 2006 3:09:00 PM

i like matt's idea too. you could make stops along the way. ct, always a couch and some food for you here in pa with me, jared/jeremy in baltimore, renee in richmond, sc, alison or murphy's dad in hotlanta, home to fl.

By Blogger josh, at Wednesday, September 20, 2006 7:48:00 PM

Well... my vote is for Yoga Retreat to India, thus travel and yoga become one.

Just watched a good documentary about yoga(if your into yoga that is) called Yoga Unveiled, preview at www.yogaunveiled.com.

Within, i learned about Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, which really seems to put into practice the essence of Yoga, check out at www.kym.org. I hope to go there someday, they do one month international retreats.

what's the good word?

matt - how's the job search going? has your sister moved in yet?
damon - how's vt? is it good to be back in the US? new job plans?
ron - how's the job? still looking for a house/condo?

brancy - how's the new job and new location? the lady situation?
murphy - how's the wild wild? still enjoying yourself i hope
tim - how's the wife, and the rest of the life?
john - how's school going?
jesse - how's the new place? enjoying it?
i dont think anyone else still reads this, but if so, what's up?

things with me are about the same. wake up, class, read, sleep, repeat. i've been trying to bust my ass during the week so i enjoy my weekends. i think it's a pretty good plan and it's worked out well so far. this weekend i'm going up to visit dominique because her birthday is next week, so that'll be a nice break from this place and school. things with her are going wonderfully...better than ever. i hope you guys liked her when you met her (for those who did), and if you didnt she'll be back. she's gonna be around for a long time (unless of course she gets sick of my shit, hahaha). but really, it's great.

my future is pretty wide open. i have no clue where i'll initially go yet. i'm also strongly considering not taking the bar and using my degree for something else...an alternative career. my summer experience with a firm only increased the likelihood of this. but there's still time, we'll see.

i hope this post finds everyone happy and well. i'll be home briefly for thanksgiving, but definitely for winter break. i hope we can all get together.

We're doing good, thanks for asking. Basically status quo for the last couple of months. Glad to see you are well, and good to see that you have such a positive outlook! Keep up the good work. -TL

I saw your dad on local cable access for the Board of Ed meeting today JOsh. He was animated.

I've been working half-time at the capitol and the other half in East Hampton at a campaign HQ for one of the House Dems. I've been in charge of HQ since day one of the lease. Grass-roots from the ground up. And definitely learning the ropes day by day.

And as for Lieberman, the composition of voters here is going to make it pretty close if Lamont keeps up these catchy commercials. Hell, I'm even starting to get swayed after that investigation committee release that report (which we knew from the start) about Al-Queda having no foothold whatsoever in Iraq before the war. Saddam didn't trust THEM. What kind of fucking strategists do we have up at the NSA anyways who said it'd be a great idea to de-stabilize them?!?

By Blogger DJ Booze Piñata, at Tuesday, September 12, 2006 11:22:00 PM

Jobs ok. Although i'm begining to understand why people shoot people now. I'll burn this fucking place down i swear. Tally is pretty sweet so far. There are things to do, culture, people, fun. The female situation is somewhat stagnant- wish it was moving faster. But you know how these things go- they just come along at random times. I'm struggling with being older than the college crowd. They all seem so..so...stupid? Its hard to find what you what.

By Blogger Brancibeer, at Wednesday, September 13, 2006 9:18:00 AM

Job search is going good. i've got an interview later today with a company that makes stuff for airports. i've got an interview tomarrow morning too with a place that wants someone to be able to communicate between one set of engineers who don't know what their talkingabout and another set who's trying to build what the first set wants. i think its more of a sales position. sister in moving in at the end of the month, her and my mom acactually on their way down right now to stay for a few days. everything else is going good.

i'm a fucking turtle is still funny to me too.

By Blogger Supreme Monkey Overlord, at Wednesday, September 13, 2006 1:56:00 PM

Hey, funny how many of us are in a changing situation. Everything is sweet up here, and it's strange to be able to understand overheard conversations and to be able to read the paper and labels.

By Blogger Damon, at Wednesday, September 13, 2006 6:09:00 PM

damon, oh shit, you're home, sort of. where are you anyway? give me a call tomarrow. i'll hook you up with a bedroom and maybe i'll get my sistert o show you around or something. i'm going to head back up that way sometime soon for another few days.

By Blogger Supreme Monkey Overlord, at Wednesday, September 13, 2006 10:11:00 PM

Matt, something about that comment ain't right.

RPL update: work, bike, beat off.

Matt, can you have your sister show me around when I come home too? But dont worry, i can provide my own bedroom.

By Blogger Brancibeer, at Wednesday, September 13, 2006 11:49:00 PM

I've got a flat in the South End of Burlington, so no need for a bedroom. Are you up here? Still using the 781 number?

By Blogger Damon, at Thursday, September 14, 2006 12:23:00 PM

No no no...it's "I'll show you my bedroom where you could hook up with my sister or something."

By Blogger DJ Booze Piñata, at Thursday, September 14, 2006 9:59:00 PM

no one wants to hook up with your sister. she has an adams apple and a penis.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Saturday, September 16, 2006 8:03:00 AM

ok i've reread that comment a couple of times, how the hell did it get taken so out of context? god damn perverts.

Friday afternoon melting pot

I've got a few things to say today. first of all, FOOTBALL! its back and i'm happy to see it again. lastnights game between pitts nad mia was ok, a little slow but it was only the first game of the season. i'm psyched for sunday nights brother vs brother match up, although i think payton will have the better game its goingto be a close one. the giants secondary is a little shaky, and who the fuck made the decision to cut deloach? or let will allen go? i like bringing in new guys but madison and mcquarters aren't excatly that young anymore. the LB's and D-line should be rock solid but once again the secondary will be a little soft. eli should be progressing more this year and he's got all the weapons to work with. playoffs are an easy goal for this team, it should be superbowl or bust this year in the big apple. except the jets. they suck. they should be loosing every game ot get the draft pick from week one. I've been watching a little college football this year nad expect to pay more attention to it. i watched FSU/MIA the other night and it got me going. that linebacker for FSU is fucking sweet, he's everywhere and hits like a brick shit house. i've never really paid much attention to college football but i'm getting into it. i like the big games and big match ups, tomarrows OSU/Texas should be awesome.

next topic, i had my unemployment hearing today. took 5 minutes. i'm getting it, no questions asked. no one showed up and all they wrote on their form for why i was dismissed was "poor performence". the lady doing the hearing even said to me that most compaines elborate a little more than that. she wasn't surprised when i told her my story and said i'd be getting it. the max in CT is now 465$ a week which i'll be getting, AWESOME! who needs a job.

on the job front, i think i mentioned a GE interview on here before, well i found out i won't be getting the interview, all i got was an email from some guy i'd never talked to saying "You will not be progressing in the interview process for GE. Sorry". that was it. i called the phone number listed with it and haven't gotten a response yet. oh well, fuck em. i had an interview today with a recruiter who has 2 positions he's going to try and get me interviews for. cool. i already have 2 more interviews lined up for next week with different recruiters. these guys are crazy, all i did was post my resume online at monster and they've all been grabbing at it. i haven't really done any work myself besides that and i'm getting interviews. what kind of crazy world do we live in.

i went home for a few days this week to see my parents and grandparents. my grandmother isn't doing so hot so she kind of wanted to see me. she's old and this isn't hte type of thing she can get better from, she knows it and so do the rest of us. its really ony a matter of time. i've tried to be loving and supportive but she doesn't want that, she loves talking to me because i'm one of hte opnly people who will talk to her like a normal person about all this. everyone treats her like a little kid or a sick puppy, well thats the last thing she wants. i talked to her all about the will and living will and funeral arrangments and stupid shit like joking about what type of music she wants at the funneral (lawrence welch, BLECH!). she knows she's dying, she was a fucking nurse for 50 years, she knows better than anyone whats up. i think thats the best thing i can do for her, just treat her normally. i jokingly made a deal with her that i'd pull the plug if no one else would. she's in pain all the time and she doens't want to be kept alive as a vegtable, i don't blame her. i guess all the arrangments have been taken care of so there isn't much else to do but keep getting her shots and taking her pills. she gets these protien shots once every two weeks that cost 2000$ a wack, damn! she's lucky she's got insurence because this would be costing a fortune. she's got pills that cost 100$ each that she needs to take every 3 days. and we wonder why drug comapines are making so much money.

anyway, VT was cool. i played a round of golf with my sister and her friend on wednesday at the country club they both work at. it was real nice. its a very fancy place and all she did was yell at me for acting stupid. damn sisters. and my mom made me get a hair cut too. the funny part was the guy i interviewed with today told me i should cut my hair. HA! on the way home i stopped in NH to buy booze, but those fuckers wouldn't take my shitty VT liscense, or believe it was real, fucking VT, 10 years behind everyone else, i swear.

oh, the interview i went on today was in hartford and waling into the building there was a camera crew out front filming some guy leaning against a car. i asked one of the guys standing there if it was ok if i walked into the building and he said yeah sure i didn't mind being in the movie. sure, no problem. i later found out it was michael madsen filming his next movie, either titled "the michael madsen story" or "view point". i didn't recognise him in person.

as for baseball, well tha yanks are on cruise control thanks to that sweep of the red sox. the AL central is the real story because the tigers are loosing and the twins are winning. sweet. i'd give a shit about the NL if it wasn't a bunch of sub 500 teams fighting for the wild card. what a joke. the entire NL should be ashamed. i don't care if it's close, they all suck. ryan howard for MVP.

Jager bombs

I don’t usually drink spirits. When I do its usually a gin and tonic, rum and coke, vodka cranberry, etc. Rarely do I do shots. However, if there is a shot to be taken, its gonna be jager. Yager goes well with beer (very important), has a very high alcohol yield, and tastes alright given the previous two. A shot of yager in between beers will set you straight. Not to say I haven’t learned my lesson with it. Ask ron. (Ah yes, b-days at good old colt 404.).

Needless to say I haven’t had any jager for a very long time. Until last night. My roommate and friends decided on jager bombs at the local tavern. This consists of dropping a shot of jager into a about half a glass of redbull then chugging. I must admit it was good. I’m not a redbull fan, but this shit got me going. Sometimes jager straight can be tough and this took the edge off a bit. Plus the redbull is supposed to give you energy. I think it worked.

On a side note- its good to be around some people who liked to get fucked up once and a while again. I think I needed that. My roommate is quite a character. He’s a brit, likes to drink, likes to smoke, but generally has his shit together. We started the night out together having a few beers back at the homestead, then moved on to the local tavern and met a few people, then got somewhat disconnected as the night progressed. He apparently went on a green hunt for a good portion of time. I later met him back in the kitchen quite bloody disappointed that he “ran around for hours and came up with bollucks”. At this point (roughly 4 am) he was off again to get “bloody fucked up”, and left. There’s no sign of him this morning.

On another side note- I bought one of these the other day. Yes, I’ve finally succeeded on finding balls that are bigger and bluer than mine (oh, self deprecation). This thing is great though. Really straightens out your spine, good for stretching, and functions in a multitude of simple exercises. I recommend. It is huge though. A big, blue, ball.

UPDATE:
The Brit staggered back to the house around 12 this morning. Shirt stained, looked confused. Beer in hand by 12.30. Man, i dont know how he does it.

I looked at my call log of dialed numbers from last night. It consists of:
Ron 3:49am voicemail
Christina 3:51 am voicemail
Murphy 3:52am voicemail
Jess 3:54 am Success!

So apparantly i talked to my ex-gf last night (this morning) for a good while. Huh.....

I have one of those yoga balls. This weekend Josh stuck a post-it on it that read "sex ball, use when everyone leaves" and left it where my friends would see it when they came to my apartment later. :\
Also, if you like Jager bombs, you should try dropping a shot of Jager in a glass of root beer. A bartender suggested it one time and called it a "root canal." It's pretty good.

By Blogger d$, at Tuesday, September 05, 2006 8:57:00 AM

i believe the sex balls come with a very specific note on the package:

warning: by purchasing this sex ball you agree to have said ball placed around your abode with entertaining notes for the public to see. furthermore, any and all "ball jokes" are fair game. we thank you for purchasing our product, as it was extremely satisfying to ball you.

you can't argue with shrinkwrap agreements!

By Blogger josh, at Tuesday, September 05, 2006 3:58:00 PM

brancy has a big blue ball, and he didn't think to give me a call. i am highly insulted. i know what to do with blue balls, brancy. keep that in mind next time...

By Blogger sadielady, at Tuesday, September 05, 2006 11:03:00 PM

I've also had a shot of amarulla into beer- that tastes like rootbeer.

We can stop talking about my balls now. Thanks everyone.

By Blogger Brancibeer, at Wednesday, September 06, 2006 9:09:00 AM

oh my god, my friends drink Jager Bombs like they're going out of style. They even have little annoying chants/songs/poems about Jager Bombs. I tried to work in something about balls in there, but I'm at a loss...
