Did I really save 32$ on my 45$ Big Y bill tonight?

Or are groceries that overpriced?

I'm sure everyone reading this, whether they be 10 ot 30 years old thinks that they are living in some unique time in history with "global catastrophes" lurking at every corner. The president has been deemed insane by the public, hurricanes and natural disasters are abundant, 100 year old banks are going under, people are losing their homes, we are still at war....

Its seems that gloom and doom is just a page away. One would think that the culture of greed appears to have caught up with the best of them. The Fed finally showed some back bone in not bailing out Lehman Brothers bank today. I'm very happy for that. Unfortunately it looks like later this week they will cut interest rates by 1/4 percent. Precisely the opposite of what they should be doing. There is serious panic in the stock market and many banks (including my own) are seriously over exposed to America's debt. Better hope that you don't have a life insurance policy with AIG. I'm sure the government will not allow the economic market to collapse at any cost. This might be a good time to re-read 1984, or if you haven't read it yet, entertain yourself.

So inlight of all the news today I called my bank to ask if my account was insured by the FDIC. Yay, it was! Some figures estimate that the federal government has 50 billion in assets to insure roughly 1 billion in savings. Draw your own conclusions...

i'm not too worried about the banks in this country, yet. i'm still hoping the dem's take over. HA!

groceries are over priced. i stopped going to the local big Y here because the produce sucks. i'm begrudgingly back to stop and shop. i do get cheaper gas there though which is a nice bonus.

Don't get too excited about the dems in office. Whoever gets the next term faces a shithole of an economy. If you are a Obama supporter I'd cut your losses and suggest letting McCain take the next 4 years on the chin.

I'm not voting because I don't like either candidate.

Ok Ron don't vote for Pres, but vote for the state people who have more impact on your life even though no one knows their names.

Closing was originally going to be 8/1 and still hasn't happened. I already live in it though, so it doesn't make a big difference.
