Faye will be coming my way today, so I thought it best to do a little preparing. The city and county is offering free sandbags (you fill em and haul em) at locations around town. I went down this morning and got me some of that. Slightly hungover I filled a good 8 bags and brought them back to the Branci-homestead. It was a typical scene of human behavior. Everybody's happy and friendly when the sand is plentiful. But when that pile started to wilt down...I had my shovel held tight and ready. That be my sand son.
This storm has been dumping buckets of rain and my property is on a slope from the road. I'll be monitoring the situation on stand-by over the weekend. These storms remind me of snow days up north. I almost got off work. People down south got two days off. Of course we are facing the brunt over the weekend...damn it.

post up some pics. Been awhile since we've had a decent hurricane up here.
yeah good luck with that, tis best to swing the shovel with the blade horizontal when someone is trying to steal your sand. wait, isn't Florida nothing but sand? either way, good luck with the storm.
