Young Democrates of CT Unite!

i went to the 3rd annual RFD Dinner presented by our very own CT chapter of the Young Democrates thanks to one socially apt . it was a cool dinner with a bunch of local political icons. speaker of the house, heads of this, representative of that. i don't know one from the other except a few i've met here or there while doing things for . it makes these things kind of fun and a little less nerve racking when i don't know i'm talking to someone important. i made a stupid comment to linda orange tonight that she apparently didn't find too funny.

the speakers tonight were Kennedys, B-list at best. main speaker was Kerry Kennedy, not bad. i'd do her. the other kennedys were ted jr and his wife kiki (kiki kennedy, thats fucking priceless) and thier 8 year old son ted the third, who was passing out Dodd 08 stickers all night.

its nice to get involved with local politics and what always gets me about this stuff is that these people really did start out local, are very approachable and are total pros at meeting everyone and remembering random people. one of the main speakers, gary something, actually remembered my last name when introduced us. i was kind of shocked since i have no clue who he is or why he'd know me. the local part gets me too because for the people who are getting elected higher and higher up, they need everyone in a room like this to support them. you have to know everyone and everything. its certainly a skill set i've not bothered to improve or have much use for during my normal life. anyway, it was a cool dinner and a good way to spend an evening.
