monkey business

i dont know, for me the monkey has lost something over the year. i think its mainly to do with more people reading it. i censor myself alot of the times realizing that whatever i type is up for anyone with a connection to the web to view. now granted only a few actually know who the person behind the words is but thats exactly the reason for the censor. i dont feel that its my place to vent anymore, i do that in my journal. i mean i do vent on certian things, politics and school but thats as far as it usually goes.

monkey making money? if you can do it then do it. but the added traffic and annoying comments might cause the monkey to fall. matt, you are a member of message boards like me. you know how you see the same stupid newbie questions over and over again. thing about that with the monkey and religion. its gets old quick trying to defend your position every day. might have to delete the comments part.

i say keep the monkey on the lowdown and let fans find it on their own. this site is for us, not the web population. its full of insider jokes and for anyone to understand it they would have to have read it from the start or have been following it for awhile. its the same problem that we have with the book, we all see the global picture, but if an outsider read this site it would most likely seem uninteresting because you need that outside unwritten knowledge. an example, johnny weed doesnt smoke weed. see what i mean?

i'm not talking about crushing the monkey or turning this site into a for profit one. i'm thinking a new site that actually has a point.
